My designs are strongly influenced by the untamed mountainous landscape that surrounds me. Design ideas change with the seasons and they all come from an awareness and love of the complexity, strength and beauty of the natural world. I seek to make pieces of jewellery which reflect or instill a feeling, allowing each piece to develop as I work on it. Some images are represented in a literal manner; others take on more abstract forms. I also work to commission and produce one-off pieces for special occasions and individual presentations.
I was born and grew up on Romney Marsh. It was here that a deep rooted love for nature and space became ingrained in my life. My creativity first developed through painting landscapes and plants. I then went on to study Jewellery Design and Manufacture at Central St.Martin’s College of Art and Design, London, where I received a B.A Honours degree.
