Small encaustic mixed media painting on a wooden cradled panel. Eithne Roberts Art.
Original art. 4 inches x 4 inches. Lovely little piece…
Encaustic painting is a very old technique that involves color pigments melted into beeswax and resin. These ‘paints’ are then applied in a molten state, and must be heated in order to stabilize them.
Handmade original art piece.
Materials: encaustic wax, plywood panel, beeswax, collage paper, pigments, oil paints, paper and damar crystals.
To care for your artwork, avoid placing it anywhere hotter than 165 degrees (good rule of thumb for anything, really)… buff with a soft cloth occasionally, and enjoy!
