Whiskey Tasting evening with Paul Coyne

Paul  from Nine Design will be here in the Leitrim Design House on the 27th Feb at 7.30pm to launch his new jewellery collection 55B. Paul Coyne is a leading light when it comes to innovation. Not only is he about to launch a fabulous new exhibition but he will launch this new collection in a very novel way  with a whiskey tasting evening. Pop in and meet Paul at 7.30pm and taste a whiskey with him. If you are one of the lucky people who have secured tickets for  We Banjo 3 & I draw slow, a fantastic double bill of top notch roots, traditional &  bluegrass music, then come early, enjoy a sample of fine whiskey and see some samples of very fine jewellery.

Paul’s  jewellery artfully combines the contemporary elegance of matt sterling silver with the golden patina of wood carved from old whiskey casks. Two classic materials fuse – the hallmarked matt silver, restrained in its reflection, frames the heritage wood now tinted pale gold in hues absorbed from fine malts and mature Irish whiskey blends during the aging process. The precious colours blend not so much like ancient treasure but as a punctuation mark for a new era of understated style and inspired design.

Pendants drop elegantly from delicate chains, cufflinks declare an individuality devoid of pretence – everything is restrained, easy. Earrings, bangles, rings, tie clips reflect the mood of modern lifestyles. With a further twist of imagination Paul calls the collection ‘ 55b’. It is named after the number of the barge that once transported world famous Tullamore Dew whiskey from its remowned distillery along the grand canal to Dublin on its journey to international acclaim.
