The ceramic space at the Leitrim Design House is bursting with vibrant colour this autumn with a stunning showcase of ceramics by award winning artist Ann-Marie Robinson. Ann-Marie’s creations are highly collectible and instantly recognisable. Her pots are all distinctly individual and are all hand built and hand decorated. It’s difficult to imagine that they begin as a round or flat simple piece of earthenware clay! When Ann-Marie works her magic, these pieces of clay transform. Through a playful approach, she brings these colourful characters to life as they take on the form of teapots, animals, bowls and figures. These one-off pieces are one of the most colourful examples of Irish ceramic art today. The artist’s enthusiasm and passion for the material she works with comes through; ‘Clay constantly amazes me, its versatility, plasticity and its ability to transform from a piece of mud to a smooth, shining piece of art’.
