Happy New Year to all of our customers! We would like to sincerely thank you for supporting the Irish Creative sector by purchasing Irish local, sustainable, creative products. Happy New Year also to our makers, artists and entrepreneurs! We are looking forward to a very exciting year ahead as we move into a very important anniversary year. In 2020 we celebrate 20 years in business and we hope that you all will share in our celebrations. For two decades we have supported great Irish design and we are very proud of the sector we represent.

A County Leitrim craftsman who has been with us for most of those 20 years is Roy Humphreys. Roy creates beautifully handcrafted gifts from indigenous Irish timber. Using native timber sourced mainly from the family farm, bowls, candle holders, lamps, and tables are carefully designed and created in a converted granary beside Roy’s home outside of Mohill. Maintaining a long family tradition, Roy is the 4th generation of the Humphreys family working with wood. Ash Alder Beech & Bog Oak are his favourite woods to work with.

In this environmentally conscious age, it is very encouraging to see businesses strive to work with natural organic materials. Giolla Liddy and his wife Emily, from Artwood Ireland also based in County Leitrim, create a range of beautiful suncatchers using native Irish timbers. They pride themselves on working with locally sourced woods and high quality finishing products and use non-toxic finishes and environmentally friendly packaging. The Leitrim Design House is very proud to represent these businesses.

Keep up to date with all of our upcoming events. We will have lots of news to share during 2020. Follow us on www.facebook.com/TheLeitrimDesign or visit us at The Leitrim Design House, The Dock, St. Georges Terrace, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim or phone 071 9650550.
