The Leitrim Design House offered four Leitrim makers the opportunity to create new experimental work by awarding collaboration bursaries to two partnerships. This exhibition celebrates the outcome of these partnerships, in response to the theme of 'Place' and  runs until the 11th October.

Stained glass artist Colette Langan joined forces with designer Erika Marks, while weaver Helena Golden partnered with ceramicist Bairbre Kennedy. Each pair shared their skills, knowledge and ideas, exploring unfamiliar processes and ways of working to create unique pieces that could only have emerged through collaboration. 

The project builds on the success of previous Co-Create initiatives, recognising the value of artists working together. Collaboration challenges assumptions, sparks new approaches and encourages innovation, while also celebrating the richness of handmade traditions in Leitrim. It’s a successful fusion where strong bonds form, strengthening the resilience of this creative community. 

The journey of making has been documented through interviews and photography by Val Robus, offering online audiences an insight into both process and practice.
