Cruinniú na nÓg is the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth flagship project holding a national annual day of free creative events for children. Ireland is the world’s first and only country to have such an event to support the creative development of children and young people.

We invited Fuinseog Woodland Crafts to celebrate Cruinniú na nÓg 2019 with their hand crafted ‘Bemusement Games!' This event was filled with fun and games for children, young people and their families as Niall Miller and Brenda McLoughlin from Fuinseog Woodland Crafts created a fun-filled afternoon playing traditional and not-so-traditional hand crafted games.

The traditional games included chess/draughts, spinning tops & ring-toss. The not-so-traditional games included marble runs, wooden pinball & mazes.

These are locally made & hand crafted traditional games that all ages, cultures and abilities can engage with. There was also an educational element in learning about the trees where the materials came from and the importance of nature and its preservation.
Fuinseog Woodland Crafts also featured in The Leitrim Design House short film productions Making Time and Crafting the Light in collaboration with Pure DesignsThis event was funded by Creative Ireland through the Leitrim Arts Office
