Geraldine, a member of the esteemed artisan community at Castle Yard in Kilkenny, brings a celebrated body of work that captures Ireland’s serene landscapes with striking light and colour. This curated collection showcases beautiful rich oil paintings inspired by the lush beauty of Irish country roads, rolling hills, shimmering lakes, and towering mountains. Primarily painting en plein air, Geraldine imbues each piece with the authentic atmosphere of the outdoors, while larger works are refined in her Castle Yard studio. This is also a great opportunity to view ‘Turning Turns 40’, an exhibition that has toured nationally marking the 40th anniversary of the Irish Woodturners Guild. Featuring 40 beautifully crafted wood pieces, this showcase celebrates the skill and creativity of Guild members while drawing attention to the serious threat of Ash dieback to Ireland’s native Ash trees.
Each work is crafted from a uniform block of Ash, showcasing the artistry and individuality of each artist. Curated by an esteemed panel, this exhibition offers everything from functional designs to intricate sculptures, all highlighting the beauty of Irish woodturning.
