We have an exciting lineup for August full of events for a month dedicated to celebrating craft in all its forms. Observe, participate and learn from these skilled artisans.

All events are FREE and don't require booking with the exception of booking being required for the Design Awards.

Date: Friday 11th August Time: from 4.30pm 
On the night we will announce the finalists for The Leitrim Design House Design, Craft and Art Awards 2023 following the evaluation from our judging panel. There will also be an opportunity to hear from 10 shortlisted applicants, view the exhibition and enjoy some refreshments. Come join us to mingle with artists from all over the country.

Heritage week/ August Craft Month: Willow Weaving Demonstration with Helena Golden
Free event, all welcome
Date: Saturday 19th August Time: 2pm to 4pm
To celebrate Heritage Week, we’ve invited an expert in willow weaving to join us and share her knowledge! Helena Golden, also known as the Willow Woman, will teach us about the ancient craft of willow weaving through an interactive demonstration where visitors are welcome to try their hand. Don’t miss this display from a Leitrim Local on The Dock plaza.

August Craft Month: Millinery demonstration with Wendy Louise Designs
Free event, all welcome
Date: Saturday 26th August Time: 2pm to 4pm
Interactive demonstration with Wendy Louise, creator of bespoke millinery handmade in Ireland.

From an early age Wendy has had a passion for millinery using traditional skills passed down from her grandparents.

Come see her work on making one of her stunning headpieces and ask advice on what kind of hats or hair accessories would work well for different occasions.


What’s happening at The Dock!
The Dock summer programme is filled with various musical performances, weekly film screenings and spoken word events . Many of these take place outdoors under a cosy and open marque performance space. For more information, visit www.thedock.ie
