As part of August Craft Month and to celebrate Heritage Week, we have some exciting upcoming Maker events! Join us on Tuesday 16th and Saturday 20th of August to see two skilled crafters demonstrate their work.
During these FREE events you will get to participate, observe and learn from these talented makers.Clay Workshop with Potter Bairbre Kennedy from Lichen Ceramics
Date: Tuesday 16th August Time: 10.30am to 12.30pm
This one day workshop where you will be shown the art of clay. Bairbre will guide you in creating a wall plaque or a wall hanging flower holder.
All materials and tools will be supplied. Participants will learn the art of working with clay, exploring the technique of flatware, incorporating drape moulds and a variety of stamps.
Booking is essential as there are limited spaces available. The workshop will take place in The Dock Art Centre.
Meet the Maker with Lukasz Jurgowiak from Of Wood and Willow
Date: Saturday 20th August Time: 2pm to 4pmLukasz Jurgowiak will demonstrate his unique skills in weaving willow and basket making. Viewers may also interact with the materials and try their hand at some of the techniques used throughout the afternoon.
No booking is required for this event, you can just drop by on the day to The Dock Art Centre.
