Creative Heartlands: Investing in Regional Creativity

in News

Leitrim, Sligo & Roscommon have always had a large and thriving creative sector. Since 2021 Creative Heartlands has been working in the region with existing practitioners to sustain and grow the design and film sectors in the region. This is being achieved by building on a strong base to invest in equipment and develop training and professional development programmes. The project is funded by Enterprise Ireland and Leitrim, Sligo and Roscommon County Councils

In 2022 we held 26 events, seminars and workshops across the region. These events were facilitated by the best of local and national talent. The events ranged from 3D printing for Creatives and Vacuum Foaming workshops to Production of short films and Camera Lighting seminars.

The training programme is offered throughout Leitrim, Sligo and Roscommon and we have worked with partner venues in the region to house specialist film and design equipment. These venues are:

· The Glens Centre, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim

· W8, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim

· King House Boyle, Co. Roscommon

· Sligo Northside Community Partnership, Sligo Town

If you wish to get involved in the project, hear more about the training programme or use equipment in one of our four partners centres please get in touch with one of our project managers:
