The 32 Series
Clare
An Clár
Derived from the Irish Clár, meaning “plank” or “board”, likely referencing a bridge over the River Fergus. However, it would be remiss to ignore Clare as home to one of the most distinctive and recognisable landscapes on the island. Another interpretation of the name as “The Plain” feels fitting, as it evokes the vast, lunar like expanse of the Burren that so vividly defines the county’s character. The karst limestone sweeps down to the rugged coast, meeting the iconic Cliffs of Moher and wild Atlantic.
