Convened by DCCI, Irish Design Week is a National programme of events that will take place from 13th - 17th November, 2023.

This in-person event is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow creatives and hear from these some incredible local and national artists curated by Shane Finan from the Artists Collective. The evening will culminate with a panel discussion with artist Dr. El Putnam and writer Mike McCormack. El and Mike have been collaborating on a new project exploring myth as a storytelling device through contemporary technologies and performance. They will present this work and their past project in open conversation, chaired by Paul O'Neill, co-director of DATA (Dublin Art and Technology Association).

Another event is also being held on Thursday the 16th November at the Carat Artists Collective, Main Street Manorhamilton.

Local artist Shane Finan will facilitate a discussion on using server technologies as artworks. This follows the project ‘waking the land’, where folklore from Benbo Mountain was used as a device to engage audiences in social events about loss, in partnership with the Glens Centre and supported by the Irish Hospice Foundation.

Varia and The Collective will run a half-day workshop on using server technologies as a method to explore alternative narratives.
