Michelle Brady’s journey into fused glass began as a birthday treat in 2022, when she attended her first workshop. Captivated by the calm, mindful energy of the process, she rediscovered a creative spark she had set aside while raising a young family and training as a holistic therapist. That first piece, a simple suncatcher, lifted her spirits every time the light caught it, anchoring her to that feeling of stillness and accomplishment.
With a background in holistic therapies, Michelle has long been interested in how colour can influence mood and wellbeing. This deep connection with colour now flows through all her work. Many of her pieces reflect colour therapy and chakra principles, aiming to bring quiet joy and a sense of balance to those who live with them.
Keen to develop her skills, Michelle travelled to Westport and England to learn more advanced techniques including slumping, casting and kiln-forming. She continues to explore and refine her approach to working with glass.
Alongside making, Michelle also runs workshops, giving others the chance to experience the restorative benefits of glasswork in a calm and welcoming space. Her work is regularly shown at local events and selected craft outlets.
Each piece Michelle creates is made with an intention to bring light and feeling into everyday spaces, whether it’s a pendant that moves with the sun or a bowl that brightens a morning ritual. Her glasswork is a celebration of colour, presence and the small moments that connect us.
