The Leitrim Design House loves to help preserve traditional methods of making while supporting contemporary and innovative ways of creating. This summer, we've invited three unique artists, Annie Gambrill, Karena Ryan and Vicky Crawford, to facilitate a series of nine sustainable textile and print workshops for the Leitrim community running on Wednesdays from June 17th until August 12th 2026.
These sessions will encourage creative thinking and expand the community’s awareness of simple, effective, and affordable methods of making using materials that can be sourced locally. The three creative practitioners are committed to working with natural materials in a sustainable way. They strive to create in a slow, thoughtful way while reviving traditional skills, protecting nature and wildlife and preserving our heritage.
Although classes can be booked individually, the summer workshop series offers the possibility of using different skills gained each week and combining them within a single artwork. Participants may decide to combine their output into one creative piece at the end of the series. We hope to showcase a selection of the work created and share information on the processes on Culture Night in September 2026. These workshops are funded under the Creative Communities Programme through Creative Ireland and the Leitrim County Council Arts Office.
Limited places available, booking is essential.
