In 2005, Nina tried to buy herself a pair of slippers from a local lady named Anna in her home village of Westendorf, nestled in the heart of the Austrian Tirol. However, Anna would not sell her a pair. Instead, she told Nina that if she truly appreciated the craftsmanship, she should learn it herself. Intrigued by Anna's words, Nina did exactly that and learned the art of crafting slippers by hand, a tradition that dates back to the 18th century.
Years later, having made her home on the Atlantic Coast in the North-West of Ireland and inspired by the cold, she began her self-taught apprenticeship in sewing and free motion embroidery and created a 100% wool collection. Every item is hand-crafted with attention to detail, quality and care in her studio in Strandhill, Co. Sligo.
Today, she specialises in crafting beautiful, one-of-a-kind and useful accessories. By sourcing limited quantities of premium wool from Ireland and Austria, using deadstock, byproducts and offcuts, Nina ensures she minimises waste and values a sustainable and exclusive collection.
